Role Description

This is a contract, on-site role for a Tagalog Interpreter based in Chicago, IL. The Tagalog Interpreter will provide consecutive and/or simultaneous interpretation services with accuracy, cultural sensitivity, and professionalism. Daily responsibilities include assisting with communication in diverse settings, such as medical, legal, and business environments, and ensuring accurate, two-way communication between English-speaking and Tagalog-speaking individuals.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in both Tagalog and English with fluency in speaking, reading, and writing
• Strong consecutive and simultaneous interpretation skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
• Understanding of cultural nuances and the ability to convey meaning accurately in a culturally sensitive manner
• Previous experience in interpretation within professional settings, such as medical, legal, or business fields, is preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations
• Certifications in interpretation or completion of relevant interpreter training programs is a plus
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards for interpreters
