Job Description CNA/Caregiver

To provide personal care services to patients under a physician plan of care and the direction of the Registered Nurse. Personal care service is defined as assistance with activities of daily living and performance of house hold task essential to the maintenance of the patient's health and safety, within the or outside of the home as ordered by a physician and supervised by a registered nurse. Our caregivers are the keystone to our business; therefore, it is a must for the caregiver to possess virtues of compassion, adaptability, respect, enthusiasm, professionalism, honesty, positive attitude, dependability, care and dependability.

Responsibilities

1. Assist with activities of daily living

2. Be able to shop for, prepare and serve nutritious meals

3. Perform routine housekeeping tasks

4. Work with community agencies involved in the patients care as directed by RN supervisor

5. Escorts patient to healthcare facilities/appointments as directed by RN supervisor

6. Respects the cultural and religious practices of the patient and family

7. Practices honesty, dependability, and confidentiality in all patient and family members

8. Maintains safe environment, following basic rules of safety

9. Reminds the patient to take self-administered medications as directed by RN supervisor

10. Assist patient in social activities

11.Reports to the RN supervisor any changes in patient conditions or home situation

12. Follows the Aide care plan and reports to the RN supervisor when unable to so

13. Prepares daily report of visit and submits on a weekly basis to the agency office or RN supervisor

Job Requirements (All Applicants Must Have the Following):

• At least 18 years of age and must able to read, write and speak English.
• All applicants must pass a criminal background check.
• Demonstrate compassion, responsibility, dependability and a cheerful attitude.
• State Issued Drivers License or Identification Card
• Proof of Citizenship (Passport, Green Card, Work Authorization Permit)
• Social Security Card
• Valid Current PCA, CNA, HHA license in Virginia, with a minimum of 1-year experience.
• Current First Aid & CPR.
• Proof of negative PPD test (chest X-ray if PPD was positive).
• Must be able to provide at least 2 professional references.
• Must possess effective communication skills and must have a reliable transportation.
• Direct Deposit/Void Check

Please come ready with those documents when chosen to fill out an application. If you do not have the Personal Care Aide Certification, we provide training and examinations. We have a 40-hour course available to take and pass the exam in order to be certified.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Temporary

Pay: $12.77 - $16.00 per hour
