The RN has a key role in managing the care of chronic hemodialysis patients. Responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, providing patient education on hemodialysis, and evaluating treatment outcomes.

As an integral member of the multidisciplinary care team, the RN collaborates directly with patients and assists physicians with medical evaluations to ensure dialysis adequacy. Direct patient care duties include initiating hemodialysis treatments, administering medications, providing patient education, performing lab draws, and coordinating the ordering of medical supplies.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $111.29 - $144.16 (Hourly Rate).

Department Description

The Division of Nephrology is dedicated to delivering outstanding patient care in the diagnosis and treatment of kidney diseases in a premier academic environment. The Division of Nephrology spans across three sites including UCSF Medical Center, the San Francisco Veteran Administration Health Care System and the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. All are unified in their commitment to diversity, inclusion and equity across patient care, education, and research and in our central mission to foster an environment of discovery, innovation and excellence for our faculty and fellows. The ZSFG Division of Nephrology has 6 faculty and 49 staff with annual expenditures of $7.8M.

Required Qualifications

Experience cannulating fistulas
Two years of hemodialysis RN experience

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual Spanish, Tagalog or Chinese
Nephrology RN Certification

License/Certification
