The San Francisco Education Fund envisions a San Francisco in which all students have access to critical educational resources that will enable them to thrive. Building upon a 40-year history of serving over 270,000 San Francisco students and counting, the Ed Fund serves and invests in students, families, teachers, and schools and partners with inspiring organizations and corporations to maximize impact.,
Do you want to make a lasting difference in a young person’s life?
Students in San Francisco public schools need mentors just as much as they need academic support. Many teachers are specifically requesting mentors-someone who will consistently show up, ask how their student is doing, and remind them
"You matter."
Through the
San Francisco Education Fund’s Mentoring Program, you can become that someone.
Why Mentor?
Students thrive when they know an adult genuinely cares about them. Mentors help students build confidence, improve self-esteem, and stay connected during a critical time in their development.
Whether it's chatting during lunch, checking in before school, or connecting after class, your one-hour weekly meeting can be a powerful anchor in a student’s week.
Who We’re Looking For

mentors of all ages (18+) and backgrounds-no experience necessary! The most important qualities are consistency, empathy, and a sincere desire to support a student.

high demand.
