Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Intake professional to join our team in a dynamic medical office environment. The Intake role is essential in ensuring that patient information is accurately collected and processed, facilitating efficient operations within our clinic or hospital setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a thorough understanding of medical terminology, and the ability to handle sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Duties

Gather and verify patient information upon arrival at the clinic or hospital.
Accurately input data into electronic health records (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with ICD-9 coding standards.
Manage patient intake forms and ensure all necessary documentation is completed.
Assist with the scheduling of appointments and follow-up visits as needed.
Maintain confidentiality of patient records and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
Collaborate with medical billing staff to resolve any discrepancies related to patient information.
Utilize Dentrix software for managing patient records and appointments effectively.
Perform 10 key typing tasks for data entry and documentation purposes.

Requirements

Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred.
Familiarity with ICD-9 coding and medical billing processes is highly desirable.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Proficiency in using EHR systems; experience with Dentrix is a plus.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and staff.
Capability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance.
