$25–28/hour (contract, variable hours)

The Center for Diabetes and Cardiometabolic Health is seeking a compassionate and driven Medical Assistant to join our team in Daly City. Our physician, Dr. Mark Tsuchiyose, specializes in diabetes, metabolic dysfunction–associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), and cardiometabolic disorders.

In this role, you’ll work closely with me, the lead Medical Assistant (who will provide training and mentorship), with Dr. Tsuchiyose, and in collaboration with virtual care coordinators and staff from Med Manage Solutions, our partner that provides chronic care management (CCM) services to most of our patients. While this position begins as a contract role with variable hours, there is future potential for full-time employment as our clinic continues to grow.

Responsibilities:

Support daily patient care and clinic operations, including:
Patient intake and preparation
Taking vitals
Scheduling appointments
Onboarding patients into programs (including CCM)
Handling billing, coding, and related tasks
Perform liver ultrasound elastography (Velacur) and comprehensive lower extremity arterial and sudomotor exams (Smart-LEDA+)
Provide compassionate assistance to patients managing chronic conditions
Collaborate with Med Manage Solutions staff to address patient needs and ensure continuity of care

Qualifications:

Medical Assistant certification (preferred, not required with strong experience)
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Excellent communication and patient service abilities
Comfort with EMR systems and technology (preferred)
Compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented
Able to quickly adapt in a dynamic clinic setting
Based in the West Bay / SF Peninsula (preferred)
Bilingual (English + Spanish/Tagalog/Chinese/Vietnamese) a plus
Flexible and reliable in a contract, variable-hours role
