Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Community Advocacy & Youth Outreach
- Collaborate with staff to produce engaging, narrative-driven content that appeals to young audiences and the general public, while balancing the perspectives and sensitivities of a diverse audience.
- Design and implement visuals, infographics, and social media campaigns to raise awareness on multiple social issues, community events, breaking news, and local movements.
- Maintain website and newsletter content with multiple campaigns and audience segments.
- Collect, organize, and elevate community stories across platforms through social media posts, interviews, videos, photography, and more.
- Assist with pre-event and post-event logistics and coordinate content with broader PR strategies to ensure messaging is timely, cohesive, and aligned with organizational campaigns and media outreach.
- Assist with conversion of quantitative data and qualitative research into digestible content for multiple mediums such as social media, website, and prints that highlight community-specific needs and issue areas.
Qualifications:
- At least 1-2 years of communications and/or digital experience. (Political experience preferred).
- Experience managing social media across platforms, with a strong understanding of building and evolving a brand’s voice and presence in digital spaces. Able to adapt trends and organizational objectives into compelling copy & content.
- Experience with content creation and designing social media graphics, presentations, and print materials that make complex ideas clear and accessible.
- Able to draft, fact-check, proofread and edit written materials quickly, and a demonstrated ability to understand and communicate complex issues in a clear, concise and engaging manner.
- Able to juggle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment with extended working hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Able to work with a team and independently based on organizational needs.
- Able to travel to and from events to cover activities, collect media materials, and report details back to Communications Manager.
- Up-to-date knowledge on policies, issues, trends, and news affecting Nevadans, as well as familiarity with Nevada politics and experience in the Battle Born state, is a plus. Committed to progressive causes and issues.
- Proficiency (reading, writing, verbal) in one of the following languages preferred: Tagalog, Mandarin, Korean, Vietnamese, or Thai.
